This year, 8 teams from around the world were invited to present their tunnel construction solutions at the third Not-a-Boring Competition, which took place from March 25-31, 2024 in Bastrop, Texas, USA. Swissloop Tunneling won the Champion Award and thus took first place in the overall competition.
Swissloop Tunneling already won second place and the Innovation Award in the 2021 and 2023 Not-a-Boring Competitions.
The Micro Tunnel Boring Machine (MTBM) machine presented by Swissloop has an improved liner mechanism and a new erosion mechanism compared to the previous iteration, Groundhog Alpha. These have been continuously improved, tested and modified since the last competition.
